West Coast IPA Challenge

Since I couldn't make it to the Malthouse in Wellington last weekend, I headed to 16TUN on Jellicoe Street, Auckland to get involved in the 11th West Coast IPA Challenge. Never before released beers brewed specifically for this event? It was no brainer.

Now it usually takes me a long time to choose beers for my flight. I stand there staring at the taps waiting for some sort of epiphany where I suddenly know all the beers I'd like to try. This however, was not an issue when 16TUN had all the West Coast IPAs laid out for me.

Below are the beers I tasted and just a few of the competing breweries vying for the prestigious Golden Gumboots Trophy.
